Project Overview

After this Italianate building suffered significant fire damage and modern changes to the exterior, we were only able to determine the key features with an abundance of photo documentation from the owner’s research.

The primary entrance storefront was built to feature the original pair of wood-and-glass doors which were refurbished in the original opening. The mid-century entrance canopy was replaced by a handsome cornice applied over the brick.

Inside, great care was taken to maintain the disciplined pattern of paneling on the walls and ceilings above the wood beadboard wainscot, reinforcing the room’s architectural rhythm. New kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry facilities were installed to provide residents with all the comforts of home.
